Kathleen & Sven
Kathleen and Sven met in 2013 at Arture, a non-profit organization promoting contemporary artists combined with networking.
In addition, they jointly established the artist residency at Chateau de Suronde, which regularly results in exhibitions of art and wine. Previously, these were pop-ups at various locations, but from now on, they will be held in HUISBURG.
Kathleen & Sven also collaborated on the renovation and furnishing of the two holiday homes at Château de Suronde , and at the holiday home Gite les Aleines in the Belgian Ardennes.
Kathleen and Sven are very complementary: Kathleen is practical and demanding when it comes to comfort and finish, Sven is creative and demanding when it comes to aesthetics and interior design, and both are focused on sustainability.
Kathleen
Kathleen was active in the construction and real estate sector for a total of 6 years, after which she traveled the world as a consultant for 9 years. Since 2010, Kathleen has been making organic wine in the Loire Valley in France, at Château de Minière and Château de Suronde . Kathleen provides the wines that are tasted and sold in HUISBURG.
She has a nose for good wine but also for beautiful places, resulting in various holiday homes in France, Switzerland, and Belgium .
So she also found and bought HUISBURG, an original house with plenty of space in a suitable location, but in need of renovation.
Kathleen also loves studying, so alongside her engineering studies, she has obtained an MBA and a postgraduate degree. And in the wine sector, she studied winemaking and completed the entire WSET program. She is now the first female Master of Wine in the Benelux.

Sven
Sven has been active in the Belgian contemporary art world as a curator and expert for over 20 years. He has organized numerous exhibitions. Together with Kathleen, he organizes the artist residency at Château de Suronde. He takes care of the art that you can view and buy in HUISBURG.
He has an eye for aesthetics and, over the years, has expanded his field of work to include furniture, decoration, interior design, etc. Together with Kathleen, he renovated and tastefully furnished the holiday homes at Château de Suronde and in the Ardennes.
Sven has personally renovated and furnished HUISBURG, preserving its authentic charm. He constantly finds new furniture and objects offered for sale in HUISBURG, but can also search for and find items upon request.
Sven enjoys giving good advice to people who want to integrate and combine art and furniture in their interior, and he can create significant added value by rearranging a space.
